Jimmy Kimmel Struggles To Fight Back Tears In Moving Monologue About Las Vegas
Jimmy Kimmel used his talk show monologue tonight to deliver an emotional message about the senseless killing of innocent people in Las Vegas.
Before he even began speaking he choked back tears as he honoured the victims and families who have suffered in his hometown.
“Here we are again in the aftermath of another terrible, inexplicable, shocking and painful tragedy," he said addressing a sombre audience.
As tears streamed down his face he then aimed a scathing attack on members of the government who last year blocked a bill that would place tougher laws on purchasing guns in America.
“I’ve been reading comments from people who say this is terrible but there’s nothing we can do about it and I disagree with that. Of course there is something we can do about it. I don’t know why do our so-called leaders continue to allow this to happen? Or maybe a better question – why do we continue to let them allow it to happen?”
The whole thing is incredibly difficult watch but truly an important call to action that we hope finally has an impact.
