Gaga Metal Crush!
From Cher, to Kanye to Susan Boyle- Lady Gaga draws inspiration from many and varied artists and genres - but even we were surprised when we found out gaga was a closet metal fan!
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the popstrel has announced that Iron Maiden “changed her life” and recalled an experience watching the metallers shred at a Florida concert this year, saying: "It was just awesome."
Gaga, who was watching the show from a box with a friend, was so moved by the metal icons she even decided to brave the crowds and head into the centre of the pit to watch the rockers belt out their classic 'The Number Of The Beast'.
She said: "We were dancing and singing and everyone was just so into it... People did recognize me, but it was so kind and warm and awesome. I mean, Iron Maiden is all about, 'We don't care who our fans are. We love everybody. I mean, it was like absolute no judgment, no prejudice, [just] freedom and love for music. It doesn't matter who you are; you don't need to know anything about music to love it. Everybody was hugging me, high-fiving, fistpumps in the air."
“And it was just so… It was just awesome… Maiden changed my life."
She also added that she admires what the British rockers have achieved in their career – even without a top ten hit.
"The devotion of the fans moving in unison, pumping their fists,... when I see that, I see the paradigm for my future and the relationship I want to have with my fans," she said. "Iron Maiden never had a hit song, and they tour stadiums around the world, and their fans live, breathe and die for Maiden, and that is my dream."
