Beauty Rules with Kate Peck
Having worked as one of Australia's top models for so many years and not to mention being a popular TV media personality, it's safe to say Kate Peck knows a thing or two about looking good.
We sat down with one of our #MTVITGIRLS to pick her brain, find out all of her beauty secrets and figure out exactly how she keeps her porcelain skin looking so dern perfect.
MTV STYLE: Best beauty advice you have ever received?
Shave your legs with conditioner instead of soap. It leaves them feeling smooth and soft after shaving, instead of dry and tight.
MTV STYLE: Your best beauty hack?
My fave is probably red lipstick. A tornado could of just smacked you in the face and left your world upside down, but if you pop on some red lippy no one will ever know the difference! I also wack on some ice cubes to stop puffiness in the morning before I put my make up on.
MTV STYLE: Do you prefer high-end products or au naturel products?
Au naturel. Often they are cheaper, smell much nicer, create minimal skin irritation and you are usually doing something good for the environment!
MTV STYLE: Best beauty tip you’ve learned from makeup artists?
When applying mascara, close your eyes and aim the brush for between your two closed eyelids. It allows you to really get the mascara wand to the root of your lashes without you blinking and smudging it out to your ear. #DISASTER
MTV STYLE: What is your AM to PM skincare routine?
I have the same routine AM and PM. I use Dr. Spiller’s cleanser, toner, moisturiser and then some BB cream. When I’ve been wearing a lot of make up or travelling I add in Dermalogica Ultra Calming mist to hydrate and Dermalogica Resurfacing Pads to clear any congestion. The pads clear any pimples up literally over night!
MTV STYLE: Who is your beauty icon?
Devon Aoki. She has the most incredible facial shape, features and divine freckles.
MTV STYLE: Best beauty travel tip?
I always carry a travel size Dermalogica Ultra Calming mist. My skin gets really dry and tight in aeroplane and hotel air conditioning, but a spray rehydrates perfectly! And if my hair gets really dry, then I cover it in olive oil as a treatment, leave it on for 15 minutes and wash it out. It’s an instant hydration bath.
MTV STYLE: Do you take any natural supplements to aid your skincare routine?
I take Fish Oil. Not only is it great for your skin but also for your hair, nails and your BRAIN!
MTV STYLE: Weirdest beauty trend you’ve ever heard of?
The facekini! It’s popular in China and is a mask that covers everything but your eyes, mouth and nostrils to protect you from the sun. The facekini comes in a range of colours and I feel it is a sure fire way to remain wrinkle free and probably single!
MTV STYLE: Best foods to eat to get great skin?
I find if I eat a lot of green vegetables and clean protein, my skin brightens up and my under eye circles ease up. For example free range, chemical free, organic produce is best. And I know what not to eat.. too many nuts. I get really greasy skin with too many nuts.
