Ja Rule Opens That Can Of Worms Again & Drops A Telling New Track About Fyre Fest
Ja Rule just can’t let sleeping dogs lie.
Just as the world was finally moving on from the disaster that was Fyre Festival – immortalised in Netflix’s glorious documentary, Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, and Hulu’s take, Fyre Fraud – the rapper has dropped a hot new single about the scam. In his tune, “FYRE” (For Your Real Entertainment), the rapper shares “how that sh*t went down” from his side and declares his innocence in the whole debacle. Here are some of the more telling lyrics (as per Hype Beast)…
“The fest—the festival is on fire/We don’t need no water, make that motherf*cker hotter,” Rule raps.
“Hotter than the sun, but it wasn’t that/Show of hands if you got your money back?/Just playing, I got sued for that/100 mil to be exact.”
“I know you lack empathy for the one that’s me but I too was bamboozled, hoodwinked, led astray/Cautionary tales of money and finance, investing in startups…”
“Full sabotage, it ain’t fraud.”
The track comes after the rapper was cleared from a $100M USD class-action lawsuit filed by festival-goers, according to Hype Beast. So, by law at least, the former co-founder isn’t considered responsible for the disaster, buuut in the court of public opinion he’s still very much on shaky ground.
Ja Rule: FYRE was not fraud it was false advertising
Narrator: it was, in fact, fraud https://t.co/kqVXH49BU8

Given all the backlash Ja Rule’s faced for co-founding and promoting Fyre Fest, it’s kinda weird that he still wants to align himself with such a massive fail. One of the reasons Ja Rule could still want people talking about Fyre, though, is because the rapper is looking at possibly reviving the festival. Yep, really. Ja Rule told Forbes recently about his plans to create an influencer-marketed music festival called ‘ICONN’: essentially Fyre Festival 2.0, sans the cheese sambos. Oh Ja Rule, what will we do with you?
