WATCH: Pls Enjoy This Epic Beauty Collab Between James Charles, Bretman Rock, Nikita Dragun & More
You don’t have to do much to tell us to watch a makeup tutorial by Patrick Starrr or NikkieTutorials or James Charles. Like queen. Give. Us. that. Glitter. Eye.
So when all - and we mean literally ALL - the biggest names in YouTube beauty come together in one big beauty bonanza video, we’re all ears (and eyes, obvs).
On May 12, James Charles debuted "The Biggest Beauty Collab In History" on his YouTube channel, alongside seven of his YouTube makeup fam including: NikkieTutorials, Patrick Starrr, Bretman Rock, Nikita Dragun and MannyMUA.
In a virtual Pass the Brush challenge, the stars came together not only for our beauty routines but also COVID-19 relief and those impacted by the virus (bless). "As beauty gurus, we are lucky to be able to work from home during this global pandemic, but we know that that isn't the case for everyone,” Charles wrote on the YouTube video. “As a community, we are raising money for COVID-19 relief to hopefully make a beautiful impact,” with viewers encouraged to donate to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization.
In the video, each MUA did one step of a makeup routine before passing the beauty baton (or in this case, brush) off to the next MUA to use.
As you can imagine, the makeup tips were glorious. My god, they were glorious. There was contouring and flicking and baking (sadly, not the cake variety but we still here for it), perfect eyeshadow applications and on-fleek highlighter placement.
But perhaps even better, were all the personal quarantine experiences the MUAs shared. Nikita Dragun said we should all be taking time for us and not stressin’ the hell out to be the best version of ourselves, MannyMUA sent a message of love - "We are with you” - and Nikkie de Jager reflected on coming out as trans earlier this year.
But it was Charles who brought them all together, telling E! News everyone has this misconception about the bitchiness within the MUA community:
"Obviously the beauty community has been through a lot over the past few years and I feel like there's kind of this general misconception that all of us are crazy and everybody hates each other but that's really just not the truth in any way, shape or form. I've been really lucky to still be friends with a lot of people in the community and we all have a really great relationship," he said. "We were literally discussing it last night; we all watched the video and were getting so emotional and proud of it."
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
