Jay-Jay Harvey Opens Up About Her Battle With Depression
Jay-Jay Harvey has bravely opened up about her battle with depression.
The radio star got candid in an interview with Woman's Day, about the time she wasn't able to leave home for a month in 2016 due to her mental health struggles.
Jay-Jay revealed it was exhaustion from her breakfast show's early starts that sent her into what she calls "the Great Depression".
"I've blocked most of it out of my mind because it was such a horrible time – I've never felt so low in my life," she told the mag.
She also admitted she wanted to check herself into hospital, but didn't want it to make the news.
"I didn't want anyone around me. I needed to crawl out of this dark cave by myself."
Jay-Jay also talked about the decision to move to More FM & Christchurch.
ICYMI, Jay-Jay announced the news she will be co-hosting the 'Jay-Jay & Jase Show' alongside Jason Gunn, beginning in April.
"I'd just bought a new apartment after leaving Dom and fully furnished it,"she said.
"I'd settled in and got a new car, and felt so happy and comfortable, but now I have to uproot my life all over again."
