Even Jeff Goldblum's Mum Thought He Died In New Zealand After Online Hoax Went Viral
Thor's Jeff Goldblum is alive and well, but he's still not over the online hoax that claimed he'd died in New Zealand.
Back in 2009, a parody website published a story saying the 65-year-old actor had fallen off a cliff whilst filming in Aotearoa.
The fake story quickly went viral, and many people (including his own mother) thought he'd died.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked the star if anyone close to him had actually believed the story.
"Yes, someone had put online that I had fallen off a cliff in New Zealand," he said.
"Before we got the word out and I could call everybody, yes, my mom," he continued.
"She called and was like, 'Jeffrey, are you alright? Are you alright?' And then a friend of mine [who] very tearfully and hysterically left a message."

ICYMI, Goldblum has said in the past he may never come to New Zealand because of the hoax.
"Could you imagine if that's the way I go? Wow. Could you imagine? 'They foretold the future, he actually did fall off a cliff in New Zealand.' It's got to happen some way," he told the NZ Herald.
