Jessica Mauboy to perform at Emmy Awards Governors Ball
Aussie pop princess Jessica Mauboy is getting set to show Hollywood what she’s made of, having been announced as one of the performers at the prestigious Primetime Emmy Awards Governors Ball next week.
The post-Emmys bash has a guest list of 3,800, which includes some of the most powerful figures in the entertainment industry – and is the official after-party of the annual awards show.
Mauboy is said to be performing on a circular, two-tiered rotating stage at the gala, which will have an ‘enchanted forest’ theme featuring a canopy of faux foliage extending over 20,000 square feet, according to CBSNews.com.
The formal sit-down dinner will also include performances by The Red Hot Band, Bella Electric Strings and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.
While details of the Governors Ball are usually kept pretty hush-hush, several media outlets are reporting that the menu on the night will include beef filet mignon with red wine-braised short ribs and a devil’s food cake with roasted cherries and mascarpone cream for dessert.
Gala organisers expect to be using 10,000 pieces of china, 5,000 wine glasses, 3,500 champagne flutes and 5,490 bottles of wine. Talk about a party!
The ‘65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards’ will be held in Los Angeles on Monday September 23 (AU / NZ time).
