Finance Director

Working across both AUS and NZ this is a senior position within the operations team of MTV Networks, a leading international media/entertainment company. As the head of finance this is a role of great importance to the company and in fact the incoming recruit will find themselves to be the right-hand to the Vice President of Operations, to whom the position reports.

You will enjoy ultimate ownership of both the financial accountancy and management accountancy arms of the finance function. With 2 direct reports and 6 other indirect reports, you will be a team leader with the experience and people management skills to develop staff competencies and develop finance processes.

Key requirements for this position are:

• Accountability for accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting, both for the internal senior managers and for our international headquarters, with the confidence to respond to queries
• Responsibility for monthly P&L and balance sheet reporting
• Management of ongoing forecast budgetary process and Long Range Plan
• Management of financial compliance and maintenance of control environment
• Responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including treasury and cash management
• Oversight of all taxation reporting

To be successful you will need to be CA or CPA qualified and have 2+ years of post-qualification experience including staff management responsibilities. You will need strong excel skills plus familiarity with various financial systems, preferably Khalix and JDE. You will ideally have experience in the media industry and absolutely have a keen interest in popular culture.

Finance Assistant

MTV Networks Australia and New Zealand is a leader in the Media and Broadcasting industry and we are in need of an exceptional Finance Assistant to join our Operations department. As a member of the Operations team you will have exposure to an array of functions not only within the Finance team but also Administration; HR; Technical Operations; and Business and Legal affairs. Responsibilities in this position will include supporting the accounts payable processes including:

• Assisting with the issuing of remittances
• Setting up supplier and vendors in our finance system
• Monitoring the Accounts Payable email account
• Checking incoming invoices
• Various ad hoc reconciliations and support to management accounting team for month reporting

You will also be required to assist the Operations department as a whole by providing daily lunch cover for the receptionist as well as assisting with various administration tasks.

The successful applicant will ideally have the following:

• 6-12 month experience in a simular role with a strong interest in finance
• Knowledge of Excel
• Strong verbal communication skills in order to confidently communicate with external vendors and suppliers
• Strong ability to prioritise and work to multiple deadlines

As a Creative Department Assistant you will be responsible for the management of workflow throughout the team; providing PA support to the Creative Director as well as offering support to the department as a whole. Responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring purchase orders are raised for vendors
• Administrative duties connected to budget management
• Working with the Creative Production Manager to ensure crew, talent etc are set up correctly
• Complete all music cue sheets for producers
