Inside Justin Bieber’s ‘high profile’ jail visit
Justin Bieber has spent his first night in prison, after being arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Miami today.
The 19-year-old pop star was locked up after being arrested for drag racing, driving under the influence and resisting arrest, spending 12 hours at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre.
While the star was indeed a “high-profile inmate,” an inside source has revealed that he was not given any special treatment during his stay behind bars.
After changing into an orange jumpsuit, Bieber was held in a cell equipped with nothing but a bunk bed with no mattress and sent to get his mug shot taken and charges read.
Once Judge Joseph P. Farina read the teenager his charges in court – driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license – the star, who was described as “confused and exhausted,” was released with a $US2500 bail.
Outside he wore dark sunglasses and waved to fans from the roof of a black SUV.
