Selena Gomez: ‘I'm the girl you want to take home to your parents’
While other 20-something female celebs are busy falling out of nightclubs and hitting headlines with their risqué behaviour, Selena Gomez has revealed that she’s comfortable with her good girl image – and has no plans to change it.
In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, the 21-year-old stated that she won’t be revamping her image in the wake of her high-profile split with Justin Bieber.
“You fall in love and it completely consumes you,” she told the mag.
“So a part of you is broken when that's gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it—I can do anything I want. I've tried it, and I've never been that girl.
“I'm always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night.”
While the ‘Come & Get It’ singer doesn’t mention Biebs, she does hint that she’s ready for a new start.
“I like to say I have a good sense of judgment, but I know that not everybody does,” she explained.
“The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve learned that I have to open myself up to all opportunities. Maybe I’ll get burned and not meet the right people, but I won’t know until I do it.”
Gomez also dished on the impending “decade of confusion,” confessing that she’s doing her best to remain “human and normal.”
“I’m 21, so now I’ve entered the decade of confusion about who I am and what I want to do with my life,” she added.
“That’s what this entire decade’s going to be.”
