It's All Over: Kanye West Has Reportedly Dropped Out Of The US Election
In news that isn't much of a surprise, Kanye West has reportedly dropped out of the US 2020 election, with a member of his campaign team confirming: “he’s out”.
In an article published on New York Magazine’s Intelligencer on Tuesday local time, Ye’s campaign team member Steve Kramer shared the fateful aforementioned quote. While he doesn’t say why the rapper is pulling out, he does say he’ll let the publication “know what I know once I get all our stuff cancelled.” The article then reports that 'about an hour' after the exchange, Kanye shared a video on Twitter showing him registering to vote for the first time. In it, Ye says: “I want to show you how I just registered to vote.”

After the voting video was posted, Intelligencer's reporter reached back out to Kramer who said: “I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye. Everyone has their own personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for something to actually contemplate at that level.” He went on to say Ye’s campaign staff were disappointed not just because they were out of a job, but because they’d been excited about the campaign.
Kanye announced that he was running for President in 2020 (despite missing some key deadlines) with a tweet on the fourth of July. A few days later he confirmed the news in a lengthy interview with Forbes magazine, which was both bizarre and quite troubling. You can read it in full here.
We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION

In the interview, the rapper said he would be running as an independent under his new ‘Birthday Party’ because it’ll be like 'everyone’s birthday' when he wins. He also claimed to have contracted coronavirus; said he was an anti-vaxxer; and had never voted before. Fans also spotted online that the rapper seemed to retweet then quickly delete a pro-life message.
There have been several reports claiming those close to Kanye are concerned about the rapper, with sources revealing that he may be in the middle of a serious bipolar episode – which would explain some of his more erratic behaviour of late. It looks like this is the end of Kanye's Presidential run for 2020 which, given the year we're having, has gotta be for the best.
