Kasabian’s ‘Cheeky’ Album
They wowed fans across Oz with their mind-blowing tour earlier this year – and now Kasabian are back in the studio for their fourth album.
But while previous releases like ‘West Ryder’ and ‘Underdog’ have bagged the rockers millions of loyal supporters – it seems fans will be in for a shock this time around.
“It’s nothing like the last record. We’re not the same band anymore,” frontman Tom Meighan told Absolute Radio.
“We always keep changing. At the beginning of this year we went on tour to Australia and we had a few ideas.”
And the man behind the roots of these new “ideas” is the group’s iconic guitarist Serge Pizzorno.
Describing the type of tracks we can expect, he told Q Magazine, "There's going to be a couple of things on the album that, like 'Emotional Rescue' by the Rolling Stones, are just something that's just a bit cheeky.
"It won't sound old or disco or anything, it'll just be really f**king cheeky, so people go, 'what the f**k's going on here? I wasn't expecting that.'"
And the new record, which is set for release in 2011, will also feature plenty of “soul.”
Tom added, “It's the most melodic record we've ever done. There's all sorts of things on there. Dare I say there's a tune which sounds a bit like the Jackson 5?"
