Miller-Heidke: Web Heroine!
Australian songstress Kate Miller-Heidke is causing waves overseas with her tuneful tale of social networking site hell, ’Are You F***ing Kidding Me? (The Facebook Song)’.
US and UK music fans have discovered the track – which is about an ex sending you a friend request on FB much to your disgust – on the net, and now her website hits are shooting through the roof.
Lyrics include: “I don’t want to know what kind of cocktail you are, or which member of the Beatles.”
Kate explained: “I was cruising around Facebook one day and it occurred to me I should friend-request one of my ex-boyfriends. I never got a response. I put myself in his shoes, and that’s where the song came from.”
She added: “Quite a lot of people have e-mailed me and said that when an ex sends a friend request, instead of ignoring them, now they send a link to the song on YouTube.”
