Kate Peck: My Week, My Style
I’ve got my hands on possibly one of the most bad ass pieces of style floating around right now in our local denim scene.
Below is the limited edition Levi’s Cherry Rock Trucker Jacket. It’s celebrating all things Rock 'n' Roll, Melbourne and denim. The Cherry Bar is Melbourne’s original rock bar, located on ACDC lane. It’s so Rock 'n' Roll I even filmed Kingswoods ‘Sucker Punch’ music video here.
Between Kanye, RiRi, Paul and Peck, denim is back in a big way.
Rock 'n' Roll has got my back ;)
I do have a small secret as to how I keep my skin in check for all the filming and red carpets I do. It often gets blotchy, greasy and bumpy so I need to keep a constant eye on it.
After a recommendation, I took myself in for a skin mapping session at Dermalogica, got them to assess my skin, prescribe the most suitable products and away I went! All problems solved! I have a 5 step process, which can be a pain but so worth it. These are the products I use but everyone is different.
One of my favourite PR company’s, GoLightly, represent a number of brands such as Tome, Karen Walker, Skin and Threads and Elke. They've just received their next season of gear for all their brands! Generally what happens is all the people who regularly pull (a.k.a borrow items) from the showroom such as magazine editors, celebrities and fashion stylists are invited in to view the new collections so as to keep abreast of what they can feature either in their mags or on the red carpet.
I was left in a tizz at Tome’s new collection (above), with a melt in your mouth colour palate it featured easy to wear luxurious silks and crisp cottons.
With a strong 70’s influence, Karen Walker has included utilitarian denim, chunky knits, sheepskin coating, rubber tread boots and a favourite of mine, a static television projection print (above).
April’s Interview mag is about to hit shelves and it features our very own maiden of mystery, Sia. She’s found probably the largest wig on the face of the planet and was styled by Elin Svahn and shot by Gregory Harris. The fashion editorial features a variety of brilliant wigs, fashions and her interview inside is equally as awesome. Make sure you check it out!
