Kate Peck: My Week, My Style
It’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 20th Anniversary, where the crème de la crème of Australian style and fashion comes together in Sydney. This week is special for me, it’s a time where I get to catch up with all the designers and models and show producers that I started working with when I was only 16 years. It’s like a school reunion!
In exciting news, we brought out Alexandra Spencer of 4th and Bleeker fame from the US to run a muck and report on all things fashion and style at MBFWA with me for MTV Style.
The Ellery show opened the week, and Kym did NOT disappoint!
I joined the party in a Kate Sylvester outfit and hit the red carpet to chat to some of the celebrity style icons attending the show.
I spoke to Kym Ellery herself and supermodel (like actually a supermodel) Gemma Ward.
And the gorgeous Jessica Mauboy.
Old mates of mine the Stenmark twins, Margeret Zhang and Cheyenne Tozzi. And then sat down to enjoy the show!
The runway was miles long with Gemma Ward and semi-retired model mega babe Emma Balfour leading the Ellery pack. The pieces were timeless, wearable and beyond cool. I need EVERYTHING!
We begin backstage with all hands on deck to get me ready for Day 1 of MBFWA.
Today I’ve gone with a matching vest and skirt by By Johnny from his most recent collection. I added a Jerome Dreyfuss bag, Local Supply red reflector aviators, Thomas Sabo jewelery and Karen Walker boots.
Today we at MTV Style covered the Watson X Watson show and one of my favourite Myer designers Johnny Schembri of By Johnny (below).
The Aje Show ended the day, where I bumped into model and blogger Lindy Klim and Ksenija Lukich of E! News. Both girls I met during my early modelling days so it’s always nice to catch up.
Today MTV Style are covering the Jayson Brunsdon runway. Jayson and his partner Aaron have been friends of mine for years, so of course they dressed me in a super cool retro pant suit.
The show was incredible, featuring Jayson’s first mens line. It was romantic, feminine and who doesn’t love a confetti bomb!
Today I was reporting on Kate Sylvester’s runway show. I’m wearing Kate’s fringed skirt and striped shirt with Karen Walker boots, Local Supply sunglasses and a Jerome Dreyfuss bag.
I remember doing Kate’s show when I was 17 in Auckland during NZ Fashion Week. Her designs are androgynous with a perfect balance between feminine soft prints and pretty dresses, mixed with masculine tailored pants and shirts.
We pinned her down backstage for a chat post show which you can checkout on our website.
The sun was shining so I thought, what a perfect opportunity to bring along my favourite accessory - My BMW RNineT motorcycle! I teamed it with White Suede leathers, Karen Waker boots, a Lyn and Tony necklace and Karen Walker sweater.
Today I popped into see CS edit x Kirrily Johnson and Dyspnea shows. Dyspnea was definitely a highlight of the week.
Well that’s a wrap guys! An insanely busy week of style and fashion, I hope you enjoy x
