Ya Fave Gal Katherine Langford Has Landed Her Next Big Role In Hollywood
Damn...the career glow up from Katherine Langford is truly inspiring.
The 21-year-old Perth native has been making waves in Hollywood since landing her breakout role in 13 Reasons Why.
After garnering her first ever Golden Globe nomination for 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama' it made sense that the big studio houses would coming knocking on her door. And boy did they.
Starring in a Netflix series is one thing but getting a role in one of the biggest movies to come out of 2018 really is the true mark of someone on the rise.
Katherine plays Leah in the upcoming Love, Simon based on the hugely popular YA novel 'Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda' by Becky Albertalli. Did we mention the film is also from the Producers of The Fault In Our Stars and by the Director of Riverdale?
Leah is one of Simon’s best friends, who doesn’t yet know about Simon’s secret, and we see a stunning and heartfelt performance from the Aussie.
This is one of those special films that only comes along so often that will make you laugh, make you cry and make you want to go right back into the cinema and watch it again.
As fans of the story will know, Simon (Nick Robinson) is grappling with how to come out to his closest friends and family all while engaging in a secret online relationship with an anonymous schoolmate.
After the success of Call Me By Your Name, Love, Simon is a departure from that extremely important narrative and offers up an accessible alternative. Katherine has once again sunk herself into a role that holds such importance amongst millennials.
And for that, we are super proud. We can't wait to see her next move.
