Kesha May Be Releasing A New Album Sooner Than We All Expected Despite Her Ongoing Legal Battle
Earlier this year Kesha was involved in a heartbreaking lawsuit, with a Californian court denying the ‘Tik Tok’ singer’s request to be released from her contract with Sony Music Entertainment, despite the singer’s claims that she was sexually assaulted by music producer Dr. Luke.
Despite the fact that Kesha has since dropped the lawsuit against Dr. Luke in California, she is still an artist under contract with Sony Music and has been working on new music in the meantime.
Now, in a statement to Buzzfeed, Sony has revealed that Kesha has agreed to work with several producers to “keep the process moving forward,” so much so that we may be hearing new music from Kesha very soon.
“Creating a new album takes time, and everyone’s goal is to deliver a high quality album consistent with Kesha’s past releases. We hope to share exciting new music with Kesha’s fans soon,” Sony said.
Despite Sony’s statement, Kesha’s lawyers told Buzzfeed that it has taken a long time for the singer to make any headway with her new music.
“Kesha has been trying for six months to record and release new music,” Kesha’s lawyer said.
“Only in the last month, after our last court hearing, has any progress been made, but it is hardly enough. Kesha still has received no commitments on promotion, songs, or even a release date.”
Hopefully Kesha's new album will be released sooner rather than later.
