Kanye West Commemorates Kim’s Newfound Billionaire Status With... A Picture Of Vegetables
Shortly after news broke that Kim’s KKW beauty brand was now valued at USD$1 billion, Ye took to Twitter to write: “I am so proud of my beautiful wife Kim Kardashian West for officially becoming a billionaire.
“You’ve weathered the craziest storms and now God is shining on you and our family.”
“So blessed this is still life,” he continued. “So I made you this still life.”

Alongside his words was a pic of fresh produce and flowers spread on the pavement. Okay...?
Beyond bemusement, fans weren't too impressed about Kanye's celebration of Kim's crazy wealth. People commented on Twitter that it was in poor taste to be bringing up Kim’s earnings when millions had lost their jobs during the pandemic. Ye too is a billionaire, and the news sparked fresh conversations around economic inequality. Should one family really have that much money at their disposal when others have so little, and beyond that, should they be actively celebrating it?
Rich people have such a different reality than the working class. Kanye thought it was appropriate to tell the world that Kim is a billionaire when this morning it was reported that 42 million people are unemployed + the rich getting richer from a pandemic.

kanye has to be an extra type of detached to congratulate his wife for becoming a billionaire during a pandemic where so many people have lost their jobs/are working for scraps and in the middle of a black upheaval when she built her whole empire on stealing from Black people 💀

@kanyewest, I hear you guys are billionaires. We are busy purging our nation of thieves and rebuilding it for our children. Do you mind donating a few millions to Malawi. Our nation will really appreciate

Nice! flexing your billionaire status whilst she probably hasn’t paid her sweat shop workers and there are millions of unemployed people suffering in the world right now 🧚🏻♂️✨💖

Last year, Forbes named her Kylie the world’s “youngest self-made billionaire” and splashed the title across their cover. But then last month, the magazine announced that (after doing some digging into her net worth) they’d found evidence that she had exaggerated the numbers. As a result, they stripped her of the billionaire title.
At 21, @kyliejenner is the youngest self-made billionaire ever. Even younger than Mark Zuckerberg, who was 23 when he reached a ten-figure fortune. To be clear, since 2014 Forbes has defined “self-made” as someone who built a company or established a fortune on their own, rather than inheriting some or all of it. As long as the list member didn’t inherit a business or money, they are labeled self-made. Read more about Jenner’s milestone at the link in our bio. #ForbesBillionaires (📸: @jameltoppinphoto)
The 22-year-old has yet to issue a statement on the reports, but she did send out a few tweets at the time, including one that read: “I’ve never asked for any title or tried to life my way there EVER. period.”
Interestingly, now Forbes is also calling out Kim, saying her new title is also an exaggeration. They wrote: "The billion-dollar figure is based on a sole transaction and is likely inflated by the brand’s strong social media presence."
