Kim Kardashian's makeup artist has really pissed off a lot of people
Should children be allowed to wear makeup?
It has been a debate made only more topical in recent years thanks to shows like 'Toddlers & Tiaras' and thanks to a simple Instagram post it has sparked an online debate once again.
Yesterday Mario Dedivanovic a.k.a the master makeup artist who contours Kim Kardashian, posted an image of a toddler in 'full glam' (including winged eyeliner and dark grape lipstick) with the caption, ""My future daughter #soCute (this is not my makeup)."
Annnd subsequently the internet lost it's shit; here are some of the negative comments:
"This is sending out the wrong message to little girls."
"This is so disturbing! Way to young to model makeup! Wtf?? One thing playing with makeup behind closed doors with ur kids or if ur performing on stage but not to model it to be posted on internet."
"Women wear make up to feel confidant and sexy. When you put make up on a child they loose their innocence. It just sends the wrong message to some people."
"THIS IS AWFUL PLEASE LEAVE CHILDREN ALONE."
Quite a few people rushed to Dedivanovic's defense citing that it was simply a photoshoot and that everyone should, "calm down."
There has been no comment from Kim Kardashian yet regarding the whole furore but she has in the past said that her own two-year-old daughter, North, "loves make-up."
What do y'all think, are people being too sensitive or have we become too desensitised to the over-sexualisation of children in the media?
