Kings of Leon to tour Australia in 2014
Kings of Leon will be coming back to Australia next year to do a full tour of their new album ‘Mechanical Bull.’
The band is in Sydney this week playing two promotional shows for the album and told the Sydney Morning Herald in an interview: “It’s rock solid that we’re coming to Australia in 2014 for sure.
“We’re just not sure exactly when yet… but hopefully it’s in the summer,” said lead guitarist Matthew Followill.
On the band’s last tour of Australia in 2011 they hit up Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth with American rock group Band of Horses and it seems the boys enjoyed their time so much that they’re going to play shows all around the country in 2014.
“Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide: The whole deal,” said lead singer Caleb Followill in an interview with Triple J.
The Followill brothers will play to an all-ages sold-out crowd at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre tonight, their first time back at the intimate venue since 2006. During that time the boys have won three Grammy awards and topped 2009’s Triple J Hottest 100 countdown for their song ‘Sex On Fire.’
‘Mechanical Bull’ is the band’s sixth studio album and debuted at No.1 on the ARIA Album Charts after its release in September.
