We Want To Hold Archie Adams Real Tight In Riverdale’s Luke Perry Tribute Trailer
The Riverdale team have dropped the first look at season four, and although there’s a lot going on, there’s one storyline we’ve been patiently waiting to watch unfold.
ICYMI, the esteemed and well-loved actor Luke Perry, who depicted Fred Andrews in the CW show, tragically passed away after suffering a stroke at just 52-years-old in March. As the father of lead character Archie Adams, his death would ultimately need to be written into the show and fans are now discovering how they’ve done it.
The trailer was teased New York Comic Con over the weekend and opens with the dream team kicking back at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe, yarning about their last camping trip before disbanding for college, when Archie gets a phone call. Cue a chest clutch as young Red drops to the floor upon hearing some devastating news that’s revealed to, yes, be Fred’s death. How he died? We’re not sure yet, but boy is it gonna be an episode to stock up the tissues and wear your warmest huggiest jammies with a cup of hot choc.
But aside from the loss of an integral cast member, the Riverdale squad seem to have another season lined up of just, you know, casual teen stuff that the usual teen would do in their final teen year of sweet sweet high school: building a community centre, explosive revelations about your criminal father, staking out people in a v incognito cap, chatting to the dead and oh yeah, whipping out a pistol while strolling with your mum. Again, super casual relatable teenage things.
Needless to say, we’re in for another drama-filled season of Riverdale, which is set to hit Australian Netflix on October 10th and kicking it off with their 'In Memorium' episode.
