Donna Summer Dies Age 63
Legendary pop icon Donna Summer has died after a longtime battle with cancer.
According to The Associated Press, the 63-year-old passed away in Florida on Thursday.
The five-time Grammy award winner, hailed the ‘Queen of Disco,’ was best known for her iconic anthems including ‘Last Dance,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and
‘I Feel Love.’
Following the news of her death, music stars from across the globe have come together to pay tribute to the multi-talented singer.
Aussie popstar Kylie Minogue wrote on Twitter, "One of my earliest musical inspirations, RIP Donna Summer #BadGirlsForEver."
Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland said, "Donna Summer. Icon! Legend! Her voice! Her spirit! Rest In peace, you truly inspired me! I love you!"
And her bandmate Michelle Williams, added, "Shocked and saddened at the news of Donna Summer passing away!"
Fellow hitmaker Janet Jackson, also sent her condolences, writing,
"We will miss Donna Summer! She changed the world of music with her beautiful voice and incredible talent."
While rapper Nicki Minaj said, "Wow, another legend gone. Rest in peace to the beautiful disco queen Donna Summer."
