Lady Gaga has made an emotional call-out to her little monsters, urging them to visit Japan after the country was hit by a devastating earthquake and tsunami in March.
The wacky popstar, who’s in Tokyo ahead of her performance at the ‘MTV Video Music Awards Japan’ this weekend (June 25), broke down in tears during a press conference as she praised the “beautiful” country and begged for tourists to return.
According to MTV UK, the hitmaker sobbed,
"I would like to use my position here today and all week long to run around Tokyo and enjoy the beautiful city, and kiss all the beautiful little monsters and scream at the top of my lungs that everyone should visit this beautiful place."
The ‘Born This Way’ star, who will take to the stage at the charity gig, hosted by Japanese pop sensation AKB48, has also generously donated more than $1.5 million to relief efforts, contributed a track to the ‘Songs for Japan’ charity album and designed her own brand of prayer bracelets to raise funds.
