Lady Gaga talks 2013 MTV VMA performance: ‘It is so beautiful’
Gaga, who will be opening the show with a rendition of her new single ‘Applause,’ told Kiss FM UK that fans can expect one of her most impressive performances ever.
"Well I don't want to give any specifics because of course I want everyone to be surprised, but it is the most physically challenging performance I've done, ever,” she said.
"It is so beautiful, it is so indicative of me as an artist. I feel in many ways that the performance is like a giant metaphor for me."
This will be Lady Gaga’s first live performance since the 27-year-old underwent major hip surgery earlier this year.
"We've been planning it for a very long time, I've been rehearsing every single day until my feet bleed,” she continued.
"I'm so excited, I mean, I can't wait. You can't imagine how it felt for me to be away from the stage."
After Gaga performs the first single from her new album ‘ARTPOP,’ a star-studded lineup of performers including Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are set to make the 2013 show one of the most memorable nights in music history!
The ‘MTV VMAs’ will air LIVE from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday August 26, with a pre-show kicking off at 10am AU / 12pm NZ and the main show at 11am AU / 1pm NZ – only on MTV!
