CRYING: Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio Save A Terminally Ill Mum
Jack and Rose may not have had the happy ending that we wanted, but Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio have gone above and beyond to give a happy ending to a mother who needed severe cancer treatment.
The Oscar-winning dynamic duo auctioned themselves off at DiCaprio’s annual fundraising Gala last year on July 26. The lucky winner was able to wine and dine with the couple for one night and all proceeds went to DiCaprio’s Foundation and causes close to Winslet.

One of the major causes that was supported by the auction was a GoFundMe campaign the Winslet was involved in for British mum, Gemma Nuttall. At the time of finding out she was pregnant, Nuttall was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer.
Rather than taking treatment that would save her life Gemma turned it down as it would terminate her pregnancy saying, “She saved my life, she was the reason my cancer had been discovered. I felt I had to repay the favour.”
After giving birth to her daughter at 26 weeks, she discovered the cancer had spread further and the only solution was a £300,00 immunotherapy treatment.
Catching wind on the fundraising, Winslet jumped on board to help raise the money and awareness for Nuttall. With all the proceeds that came from DiCaprio and Winslet’s auction, Nuttall was able to go for the treatment and was declared cancer free.
The Daily Mirror reported Gemma saying, “I can't thank Kate enough. Without her donations, and the public's, my story would be very different. We thought it was a wind-up, but then she called and I realised she was serious.
“I told her I could never thank her enough and she told me not to be daft. She said she had read about my story online, that she had three kids of her own and had thought about what she would be like in that position.”
This Morning caught Gemma recounting the emotional story as well.

The Internet is absolutely living for this whole story and how generous the actors are:
This wonderful story has changed my thinking. I have a hard life & it's very easy to become 'poor me'. To see this lovely young woman, Gemma, & her family & the amazing kindness from Kate & Leo makes me realise that life is still a beautiful thing.

This is a treatment a good few people may need at sometime in their lives what a pity that it is so expensive .Im delighted that the lady has recovered and it was a fine gesture from Kate/Leo but it shouldn’t take this to save lives money should never stand in the way of life
