Watch: Lil Nas X Discusses Coming Out As Gay In An Interview For The First Time
Lil Nas X is getting personal about coming out.
The 'Old Town Road' rapper appeared on BBC America for an interview in which he discusses his sexuality and what it took for him to come out considering the position he currently sees himself in.
In what was a fairly awkward sitting, Lil Nas X revealed that he now feels he has "nothing to hide" and even considered taking his sexuality "to the grave" but he felt he "didn't want to live my entire life… not doing what I want to do.”
“I’m also, I feel like, opening the doors for more people,” he went on to say, adding that he hopes it helps people “feel more comfortable” about coming out.

The 20-year-old who released his debut EP '7' last week revealed in a series of tweets that the track 'C7osure (You Like)' alludes to him being gay and was surprised no one was able to pick it out earlier.
He also acknowledges that the in music genres he sits in between, typically isn't as accepting of his sexuality and when asked about if he's been on the receiving end of backlash, he said: “Oh, I’m already getting it. I used to be that person being negative. I’m not angry or anything [about it], because I understand how they just want that reaction.”
We are seriously so happy Lil Nas X is making a statement on the idea of acceptance. Chuffed.
