Lily Allen has sensationally revealed she will not make a follow-up to her much-loved second album, ’It’s Not Me, It’s You’.
The 24-year-old pop poppet announced the news on her It’s Not Alright blog.
She wrote: "Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record (applause).
"I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade."
She added: "The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I'm concerned…”
’The Fear’ gal wants to recreate herself as a thespian and is said to have caught the acting bug after appearing in homegrown soap, ‘Neighbours’.
Lil has now signed up to appear in a West End play called ‘Reasons To Be Pretty’ by acclaimed filmmaker and playwright Neil LaBute.
The piece, about a bunch of working-class friends fed-up with their dead end lives, is “about themes close to my heart,” says Lil.
The sparkly makeup-loving star hinted she was on the verge of quitting the pop scene recently - but her final word on the issue will still come as a shock to fans.
Last month she said: "I've been on the road for four years and I've given my voice a real run for its money… I'm struggling so I'm going to try something new".
Music land will miss you, missus.
News update: Lil's publicist says: "She is not quitting music... She is not thinking about her next album right now because she is still in the middle of promoting her current record."
Hmmm, sounds a little like a panicky cover-up to us...
