Lorde to perform at the ‘2013 ARIA Awards’
Organisers of the ‘2013 ARIA Awards’ have announced the exciting news that Lorde will be performing at Australia’s biggest night in music on Sunday, taking the stage to sing her latest hit ‘Team.’
The 17-year-old singer was the first Kiwi to have a single reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and this week marks ‘Royals’ ninth week in the top spot.
This year has been huge for the ‘Tennis Court’ singer, winning four awards at the ‘2013 Vodafone NZ Music Awards’ last week, being the first female to top Billboard’s alternative chart since 1996 and being announced as TIME magazine’s Most Influential Teen of 2013.
Lorde’s gig at the ARIAs will be her first performance on Australian TV and ARIA CEO Dan Rosen is excited to have her on board.
“Lorde is an extremely talented artist and performer and one of the biggest artists in the world right now, so we are thrilled to be able to welcome her to this year’s ARIA Awards as a special guest performer,” he said.
‘The Love Club’ singer will be joined by a string of other artists performing on the night including Flume, Tame Impala, Birds of Tokyo, Vance Joy, Bliss N Eso, Jessica Mauboy, Samantha Jade, Sheppard, The Potbelleez, Stafford Brothers and Alison Wonderland.
The ARIAs red carpet will kick off at 3pm December 1 at The Star in Sydney and all of the performances will be streamed on Rdio the next day.
