Lorde’s collaboration wish list includes Rihanna, Ellie Goulding
Having a #1 hit in the US means dreams of collaborating with some of the world’s biggest stars aren’t as far out of the realm of possibility as they may once have been – and Lorde has revealed that she’s already got some huge female vocalists on her radar.
In an interview with Clash magazine, the 16-year-old explained that she hasn’t yet had the chance to write music for any other artists but it’s something she “can’t wait” to add to her impressive skill set.
“I haven’t written for other artists but I definitely want to,” dished the ‘Royals’ singer, according to MTV News.
“Obviously lyrics are a huge part of my music and they’re so personal to me, so… it’ll be such a challenge to step out of my body. I can’t wait.”
And who does the talented teen have in mind?
“Rihanna would be fun to write for because she’s done everything,” she shared.
“And I’d love to write for – or with – Ellie Goulding, actually.”
The New Zealander – whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor – has already begun rubbing shoulders with the musical elite and explained that her encounter with American songwriter and record producer, Dr. Luke, was “particularly impressive.”
“I’ve hear from lots of people – almost too many to mention! But Dr. Luke was particularly impressive,” exclaimed the singer.
“It’s like, ‘You’re Dr. Luke, you’re like Rambo.’ He’s pop royalty. I imagine him living in some ice palace with Nordic maidens and wind chimes. He’s cool. I find what he does so fascinating.”
Lorde is currently on tour in Australia performing tracks from her recently released debut album, ‘Pure Heroine.’
