Taylor Swift and Lorde were seen in the line for burger joint Shake Shack at Madison Square Park in New York yesterday looking like BFFs.
A fan posted a photo of Taylor and Lorde on Twitter and told E! News that they “seemed like they had been friends for a long time. They seemed so close, like they were roommates or school mates.”
When it was time to pay for their meals the fan said: “Taylor looked to the bodyguards for money, and then the bodyguards pointed at Lorde who started digging money out of her pockets and paid."
The onlooker also said that the pair each had a shake and some fries while sitting on a park bench and “were giggling and talking to each other,” while the bodyguards patrolled the area.
Oh to be a fly on a nearby tree! While we can only guess at what the two ladies talked about during their outing it is possible that they discussed ‘The Hunger Games’ as Taylor sang two hits for the first movie and Lorde is covering the Tears For Fears song ‘Everybody Wants to Rule The World’ for the sequel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.’
This catch-up is a bit of a surprise to most fans after Lorde made comments to Metro magazine last month about Taylor being an unrealistic model for teens saying: “Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls.”
While the ‘Royals’ singer did back-track, writing on her Tumblr page: “I am very very new to this whole thing. I will probably never be the kind of role model for my fans that [Taylor Swift] is for hers. I admire her very much for this reason.”
