Diplo talks new Major Lazer album: “I’m pulling all the favours for this record”
A year after releasing their Apocalypse Soon EP, Major Lazer's new album will be here by 2015.
Sitting down for a chat with Idolater, one third of the producer trio Diplo – real name Wesley Pentz – said that the new record is in its final stages and is set to be released in the next six months.
“[The album]’s gonna come out early next year, like January or February,” Diplo said. “There are a lot of big name acts we hope to be featured on the album. I’ve been working with a lot of different people the last couple of years, so I’m pulling all the favours for this record for sure.”
Going on to talk about his recent studio work with Madonna, Diplo went on to reveal that fans can expect to hear “four or five” of his tracks on her upcoming album.
“We’ve written about seven songs now, and hopefully maybe four or five will make it to the album,” he continued. “We had a lot of fun. Those records are gonna be crazy sounding. We really pushed the envelope with some of the stuff we were doing.”
