Meat Loaf Down Under!
He’s the larger than life singer who still lays claim to Australia’s biggest-selling international album more than three decades after its release – now, Meat Loaf has announced he’s coming Down Under like a ‘Bat Out of Hell’!
The vocal powerhouse, who has been confirmed as a guest star at 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday October 1 at the MCG for a rumoured fee of $600 000, will be playing a massive run of arena and winery shows in Australia and New Zealand and October.
Meat will be wowing crowds with his back catalogue of hits including ‘Bat Out Of Hell’, ‘Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad’, ‘You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth’ and ‘I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)’. Aussie audiences will also be the first to sample hits off his new album ‘Hell In A Handbasket’ which is due in October.
His 1977 landmark album ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide and is the third biggest selling record of all time, selling in excess of 200,000 copies a year. It is still the number one selling international album in Australia with 1,610,000 copies sold and has been awarded 23 x Platinum status.
