WATCH: Meghan Markle Shares A Video Of Her Reading To Archie For His First Birthday & We Are Melting
Today, Archie, or “Arch” as Megs and Haz like to call him, turns one. In honour of the little man’s birthday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have gifted Save The Children UK (and us) the most adorbs little video of his mama reading to him.
And we only have one word: CUTE.
In the Instagram video posted by Save The Children, Markle holds Archie while reading him the children’s classic ‘Duck! Rabbit!’. Super keen to get to the next page (he’s a little impatient, that Archie), he tries to skip ahead while his mama tries to teach him the difference between a duck’s bill and a rabbit’s ears (look, it’s an easy mistake).
But perhaps even more adorable are the off-camera sound effects by his papa, Prince Harry. Obviously the one doing the filming, Prince Harry seems to be enjoying the book a little more than Archie, audibly chuckling throughout his wife’s narration - even “quack, quack, quacking” at one point. STOP. But don’t.
Super chuffed at his wife’s talent for storytelling, he continues to giggle throughout the video, while Archie is all just “where’s the next book, mum!” searching for new material halfway through (told you, he’s a tough crowd).
Now living in Los Angeles with his parents, this is the first update we’ve seen of Archie since New Year's Eve, when the couple last shared a shot of their little boy. And wow, he’s definitely grown. Time flies when you’re carving out a new life for yourself in America.
“Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support! We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year. We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness.” - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Special thanks to Chris Martin and @Coldplay for allowing us to use one of their songs Photo and video © SussexRoyal Thanks to PA for additional images and footage
Apparently he’s also loving his new LA life and is actually really digging Quarantine. Archie has been "loving doing FaceTime playdates with other small children they have in their lives," a source told E! Wow this baby has a more active social life than us.
Obviously born for the camera, maybe he’ll follow in his Mama’s footsteps and become an actor. Archie the Academy Award winner? Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
