Listen up Michael Buble fans, have you been naughty or nice this year? Probably the latter as the Canadian singer has unveiled plans for a Christmas themed album!
According to an announcement on the jazz singer’s official website, the new release, called ‘Christmas,’ is set to hit the shops on October 24.
Reminiscing about the holiday season as a child, the star posted,
“Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year for me and my family so naturally it’s been a dream of mine to make the ‘ultimate’ Christmas record. Even though it was summer and 95 degrees in LA we totally got into the spirit of the holiday. Of course we decorated the studio with Christmas lights in the middle of July and that was a big help. One more thing, my mother told me it’s the best record I ever made.”
The singer will cover Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’, Elvis’ ‘Blue Christmas’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. There’s also an original track and a duet with country-pop singer Shania Twain.
The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ superstar has been teasing his followers by leaking info about the album cover picture and track listing, and fans can also pre-order a limited edition copy which includes 3 bonus tracks plus an exclusive ornament that comes inside the extended packaging.
The new tracks follow Buble’s previous multi-platinum album ‘Crazy Love’ which sold over seven million copies world wide.
The Canadian crooner previously released a Christmas EP titled ‘Let It Snow’ in 2003.
