Miley Cyrus brings back foam finger for Mike Will’s ‘23’ music video
Say what you like about Miley Cyrus, but the starlet has certainly made a slam dunk in Mike Will Made It’s video for ‘23’ which dropped today.
The Michael Jordan-inspired video shows us a whole new side of Miley (that’s right, we hadn’t seen it all!), with the 20-year-old showing off her rapping skills alongside Mike Will, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J.
“I’m in the club high off purp with some shades on/ Tatted up, miniskirt with my J’s on,” rhymes the ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer while wearing a flesh-baring take on a Chicago Bulls basketball singlet.
“I’m definitely not a rapper. It’s my rapping. It’s my own ‘swag’ – I hate that word,” the pop star told MTV News.
“But it's just the only way I can really describe it, it's just kind of my own thing where it's not really rapping, it's just kind of on my own thing. It's just kind of on my own sh-*t.”
The video takes place in a high school, with Mike Will and his crew taking over the PA system and blasting the track. Miley struts her stuff into a pep rally and frequently lets that now-famous tongue of hers loose throughout the clip.
Meanwhile, Khalifa appears to be cooking up something in a chemistry lab while Juicy J lays down his verse in the school’s weight room – with the scene being intercut with shots of Cyrus sitting on top of a basketball hoop, rocking her J’s and holding a bedazzled basketball. Oh, and the infamous foam finger from Miley’s MTV VMA performance makes a reappearance, too!
Miley is still gearing up for the release of her album ‘Bangerz’ on October 8 and her exclusive documentary ‘Miley: The Movement’ will premiere on October 4 at 8pm – only on MTV!
