SURPRISE: Another Grey's Anatomy Spinoff Is Happening & It Features No Doctors
Get ready for more tears and heartbreak, a second Grey's Anatomy spin-off is set hit our screens very, very soon.
Four years after Private Practice wrapped, the Grey's universe is expanding once more, as showrunner Shonda Rhimes has received a straight-to-series order for her new show.
According to Deadline, the upcoming project will be set in a Seattle firehouse, following the lives of a group of heroic firefighters.
"From the captain to the newest recruit, the show revolves around these brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock."
The forthcoming series is written by Grey’s executive producer/co-creator Stacy McKee, and there is a possibility several Grey's characters will also appear in the spinoff.
“No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda, and Grey’s signature Seattle setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting spinoff,” said ABC's Channing Dungey.
