Here's Everything We Know About 'The Craft' Reboot
Dust off your spirit boards, The Cult reboot is still in the works.
The iconic flick's comeback was announced back in 2015, but since then details have been kept well under wraps.
Here's what we know...
Leigh Janiak was originally attached to helm the project, but it's been revealed that it'll be receiving a rewrite from 10 Cloverfield Lane co-writer Daniel Casey.
Tracking Board shared the news today, saying "the studio is eager to get the remake off the ground."
Janiak’s reboot was set to take place 20-years-later and rather than revisitng the same story, the film was planned as more of a sequel.
At this stage, her vision is still going ahead and Doug Wick - who produced the original movie - will be back to act as a co-producer alongside Lucy Fisher (Divergent).
“I wouldn't say that we wouldn't so much call it a remake as a 'twenty years later," Wick told Hitflix last year.
“There will be callbacks to the original movie, so you will see there is a connection between what happened in the days of The Craft, and how these young women come across this magic many years later,"
Once again, the plot will follow a group of young women who "discover the power of magic".
The Craft sequel will explore "their emotional lives, their wants, their fears, their longings, as they become empowered."
It will also reference characters and/or events from the previous film, there is also a possibility some of the original stars will also make a cameo.
A release date and cast are yet to be revealed.
