The ‘Sex & The City 3’ Movie Is Officially Not Happening Anymore & We’re Devastated
It was an understatement to say that we were chuffed that a Sex & The City 3 movie was in the works.
However, our hopes and dreams have been brutally slashed since SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that a third movie for the iconic TV series is totally off the cards.
“It’s over…we’re not doing it. I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story,” SJP told Extra on Thursday.
“It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
Preach it sister.
According to DailyMailTV, whilst SJP, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon were on board to reprise their roles of Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda respectively, it seems that the project fell through due to the fact that Kim Cattrall wasn’t keen to return as old mate Samantha Jones (AKA hands down the best SATC character).
The DailyMailTV also report that Kim’s decision was influenced by the fact that Warner Bros. refused to produce the other movies that she was developing.
Since the news broke, Kim has taken to Twitter to confirm that she was never on board for a third SATC movie.
Woke 2 a @MailOnline 💩storm! The only 'DEMAND' I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film....& that was back in 2016

It’s been reported that the movie, which was green lit by Warner Bros., was due to go into pre-production this month.
Whilst we’re pretty darn devastated, we have to admit that a third Sex & The City movie wouldn’t be the same without the fierce and fabulous Samantha Jones and her epic one-liners.
