This ridiculously talented South Australian is about to have the world knocking at his door. Having just finished Nina Las Vegas’ House Party Tour, this local export produces house and garage with precision and also does some pretty sweet remixes for others too. His EP ‘Promise Me’ has just been released and also includes a ‘b side’, which features some songs that are going to be huge in the club scene. Have a listen to it here...
The Melbourne duo of Gabe Gleeson and Chevy Long make up the cool beats of Indian Summer. Signed by our friends over at Sweat It Out! (who also have Motez and RUFUS on their books), these lads are definitely in good company! Their most recent release, ‘Aged Care’ encapsulates an eclectic mix of tribal claps and tweaked vocal loops. Another up and comer in the dance scene is this crazy cat, who legend has created his moniker ‘LDRU’ while spending extended time in bed nursing a serious worksite injury such humble beginnings! Otherwise known as Drew Carmody, his hit ‘The Tropics’ has grabbed the attention of stablemate Flume with his sound sitting on the more ‘bass-ier’ side of the Australian sound spectrum. It’s a song that packs a mean punch so check it out here…
Hailing from the NSW coastal town of Ulladulla, this 19-year-old Sydneysider found love in production after replacing an 8-track tape recorder for a computer he could record live instruments on. Racking up over 300,000 plays on Soundcloud with his track ‘High With Me,’ this is one artist who’s definitely been blipping on our radar. With plans to build a live show too, Yahtzel is sure to be coming to a venue near you very soon. Stay tuned.
With high-rotation radio hits ‘Stoopid’ and ‘Rock You Tonite’ already under his belt, Sydney producer Wave Racer is making some pretty big swells in the Australian dance music landscape. His sound features colourful synths and his most recent release ‘Streamers’ is no exception. Top Aussie artists such as Panama and Cosmos Midnight are also rushing to work with this crazy talent, so be sure to check out his firery work, most recently for Flight Facilities’ new single.
He hasn’t even hit his 20s yet and already this disco-loving babe from the sunshine state is already getting accolades from Peking Duk, Motez and Alison Wonderland. Young Franco describes his sound as being filled with funky basslines, vocoders and old disco beats mixed with some ‘80s jams. This is one cool DJ/producer who you are going to be hearing a lot more about. Be sure to check out his music, which Peking Duk call ‘a saucy bag of cream pops!’
Rising Aussie DJ and producer Alison Wonderland recently had one of her sets described by Annie Mac as ‘the best party set I’ve heard in a while.’ This is one truly gifted artist who has jumped down the rabbit hole and landed straight on the decks! Giving the boys a run for their money, Alison has heated up dancefloors across the globe, even playing at the Grammy after-party where she showcased her eclectic mix of indie, hip hop and dance sounds to some pretty heavyweight music execs! She has just announced her most ambitious and original project to date, taking her Wonderland Warehouse Project tour on the road across Australia.
This lady means business! Kristie Lee Peters aka KLP has just been announced as the new host for Triple J’s House Party, a meteoric rise for the artist who only uploaded her first original production sometime last year. She has DJ'd across the country for the last four years however, so there’s no doubt this girl can get kids moving on the dancefloor. She also just released her video for ‘Decide’ – listen to the song here.
This beat maker from Sydney mixes hip hop accents with house, with his three-track EP ‘etcetc’ featuring some pretty awesome vocals and steal drum sounds. Quickly becoming known as the wonder boy of the Australian dance scene, be sure to get you ears around his debut single ‘Hold On,’ which features London duo Youth. If you like what you hear, his debut EP will be dropping later in the year.
There’s a lot of mystery surrounding Golden Features, with his debut EP only emerging early February, creating an unprecedented buzz across the Australian dance scene. Following in the footsteps of legends Daft Punk, no one actually knows what Golden Features looks like, with his manager saying that he’d ‘prefer people focused on his music.’ What can be said though, is that he definitely has the goods to back up his mystery, with his debut EP racking up over 10.5k plays in just 72 hours! The vocals on his EP features Nicole Millar of Peking Duk ‘High’ fame.
