10 Minutes with Jack Watkins from ‘The Valleys’!
If you haven’t already heard of Jack Watkins, you’re about to. He’s the buff Welshman who trades as an engineer by day and entertains women as a stripper (dressed as a fireman FYI) by night. Never too shy to get his kit off, Jack is definitely one character you’re not going to forget.
Check out our interview with the guy who promises to “hit the TV screens hard” as we talk season 3 antics, crazy stripper experiences, chicks and who he’d shoot, shag or marry…
MTV: You’re the latest edition to 'The Valley’s' family, what's the best thing about being the new guy?
Jack: The best thing about being the new guy is no one knows what’s coming yet and I can assure, I am gonna hit the TV screens hard.
MTV: What is the craziest thing you've done/seen this season?
Jack: Where to start? If you’ve seen season one and two, this season blows them out of the water. It’s crazier! There’s more nudity, there’s more arguments, there’s more crying.
The craziest thing I’ve done is obviously my strip. My strip absolutely hit the roof. I think that most people are going to be sick of seeing me naked by the end of it. It’s just absolutely unreal.
MTV: What do your mates think about you coming on the show?
Jack: All my friends have got babies, they’ve all moved on with their lives and stuff, you know, they’re just excited for me. In a sense, not many people get a chance to do any of this. They think I’m lucky. I’m going to make the most of it.
MTV: What were you doing before you came into the house?
Jack: I was an engineer and I was playing semi-pro rugby league. I was a stripper as well; I still am a stripper, every Saturday night.
MTV: So you're a stripper. What's your favourite costume/outfit to wear?
Jack: In stripping, the costume is a big thing, and you know women love a man in uniform.
I’d say a fire man, literally because you’ve got to compensate for their imagination. You know, [women] all wanna be taken away by a fireman or ‘saved.’
MTV: What's the craziest experience you’ve had as a stripper?
Jack: The first time I ever stripped. I got a gig working for the ‘Dream Boys’ as a host and one of the acts didn’t turn up. So the head stripper, Gary, he’s like, ‘Right, Jack I need you to do me a favour, I need you to do a strip for me.’
I was like ‘Gary! I can’t even dance. I have two left feet, I don’t have a routine.’ He’s like ‘Jack, you’re a good looking boy, just go on stage for 10 minutes and the girls will go crazy.’
I was like ‘give me some Vodka and I’ll do it.’
I went backstage and had a lot of Vodka, I stumbled out on stage and literally it was supposed to be a strip tease, so you strip a little bit, you tease a little bit, but I literally went out there and just pulled my pants down. I just stood there for 10 minutes with my willie out and not a clue what to do.
I would say that was the craziest experience I’ve had stripping. It was the scariest as well. I just spent 10 minutes with my pants down, grinding on people.
MTV: How much has being on ‘The Valleys’ improved your success rate at pulling chicks?
Jack: I don’t really see it as that, I don’t really see quantity, I’ve always been a one woman man and unfortunately I haven’t met ‘the one’ yet.
I was in a relationship for six years and I never thought this was going to come along, The Valley’s especially, I thought I was going to have kids and a nice little house and a little dog.
You have literally got to live the hand that god deals, so you know, I’m living it up and I’m loving it as well.
MTV: Describe your ideal girl, what does she look like?
Jack: To me looks are nothing, I think it’s about personality, they have to make you laugh, they’ve got [to have] a nice smile, you’ve gotta have a laugh and be best friends with them as well as be attracted. I don’t think there’s anything more attractive than having a personality.
MTV: Have you slept with anyone in the house?
Jack: I’m not the one to kiss and tell, but as I was saying, ‘the one’ hasn’t come along yet, but there might be one girl in the house that I’ve been particularly taken back by and I still am. Obviously I’m not going to say any more than that.
MTV: If you had to pick one of the twins (Anthony or Jason) to sleep with, who would it be and why?
Jack: I don’t think I could pick one out. It’s like Natalie always says, there’s nothing better than a Suminski sandwich.
MTV: Shoot, Shag or marry? - Lateysha, Carley or Chidgey
Jack: Shoot Chidgey, Shag Carley, Marry Lateysha.
MTV:Where do you think you'll be in five years?
Jack: I mostly want to be settled down with the woman of my dreams, a nice house, a nice little puppy and I would think about having kids.
MTV: What would you rather? Change gender every time you sneezed or not know the difference between a baby and a muffin?
Jack: I think I’d rather change gender every time I sneezed, because if you didn’t know the difference between a baby and a muffin you’d try and eat a baby.
I’d rather change gender. I think a lot of people always wonder how the opposite sex feels when you actually have sex. So yeah, I’d rather change gender.
‘The Valleys’ season 3 hits screens from Wednesday 26th Feb at 8:30pm – express from the UK and only on MTV!
