2013 ARIA Awards nominations announced!
Sydney producer/ remixer/ all-round wonderboy Flume (AKA Harley Streten) has dominated nominations for the ‘2013 ARIA Awards,’ scoring nods for some of the night’s most coveted awards.
Having already taken home ‘Producer of the Year’ in the Artisan category, the 21-year-old is up for an incredible eight awards – including ‘Album of the Year’ for his self-titled record, ‘Best Male,’ ‘Best Dance Release,’ ‘Breakthrough Artist,’ ‘Best Australian Live Act’ and ‘Song of the Year’ for his dance anthem, ‘Holdin’ On.’
West Australian boys Tame Impala are close behind, with a total of seven nods for their second release, ‘Lonerism.’ Both acts will battle it out for ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Best Video.’
Newcomers RUFUS have also made the cut – challenging Streten’s predicted winning streak for ‘Breakthrough Artist,’ and ‘Best Dance Release.’
Other nominees, including Empire of the Sun, Jagwar Ma, Boy and Bear, Matt Corby and Vance Joy will also battle it out at the ceremony, which takes place on Sunday, December 1 at the Star Event Centre, Sydney.
Fans will have the chance to determine who takes home the awards, with public voting for specific categories open now.
Performers, hosting duties and this year’s ‘Hall of Fame’ inductees are yet to be announced.
