Cory Montheiths’ family to Lea Michele: ‘Let Cory Go’
Cory Montheith’s family have spoken out about Lea Michele’s constant references to their late son in media interviews.
While many of the Glee cast have chosen top privately mourn the loss of their co-star and friend, Cory’s family claim Lea has used his untimely death to help her career.
According to reports in Now Magazine and Hollywood Life, even her Glee co-stars think her public mourning is starting to feel more like a publicity tour for her newly released album, ‘Louder.’
"Lea's Glee co-stars feel she's milking Cory's death to boost her career, including by claiming much of her album was inspired by him,” an insider reveals to Now Magazine.
"They were all very close friends and they think some of the mentions have been a bit unnecessary.
“Cory's mum Ann called Lea and very nicely suggested she ‘let Cory go.’ Lea ignored her wishes, continuing to talk about him in interviews.”
After Lea reportedly ignored the Ann’s request, she received another, more forceful phone call from Cory’s distraught mother.
“Ann called again and was more forceful, telling Lea that constantly bringing up Cory's name rips open wounds for them.”
According to the source, Lea hit back and defended her choice to speak about her late boyfriend and how she was the one person trying to keep him away from drugs.
"Lea was furious and complained to friends that she was responsible - not his family - for trying to keep Cory sober and that she was the best stabilising influence in his life,” the source continued.
