He’s currently in the middle of his first headline tour Down Under – and now Ed Sheeran has revealed his live Aussie shows will be part of his warm-up for the Olympics!
After non-stop rumours about which superstar acts will be taking to the stage to close the mega sporting bash, the Brit singer told Nova FM,
"I'm playing the closing ceremony – which I think is kinda cool right?
“A lot of people think that I'm doing a song with The Who but I'm not -- I'm doing a song with Pink Floyd. I'm doing 'Wish You Were Here.'"
But, the hitmaker confirmed to Nova FM that the performance would NOT feature all the surviving members of the rock band. However he said fans could expect to see drummer Nick Mason join him on stage.
According to NME, the closing ceremony will also reportedly see The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Take That, George Michael and Emeli Sande perform.
