Last year he teased fans about regular studio hook-ups with his bandmates – but now Damon Albarn has dropped the bomb that Blur could be over for GOOD!
When quizzed about whether we can expect a new album from the pop legends, the frontman told The Guardian,
"No, I don't think so."
And despite bagging a headline slot to play at London’s 2012 Olympics, he hinted that it could be the last time fans ever get to see the group together on stage.
Revealing plans to finish things on a high, the singer said,
“I hope that's the truth: that that's how we end it.”
And sadly, the music world could be mourning more than just the end of Blur – but the end of Damon’s uber successful virtual band the Gorillaz too.
The Brit star revealed that any new material from the popular cartoon group is “unlikely” thanks to a fall out with his collaborator Jamie Hewlett.
“I think we were at cross purposes somewhat on that last record, which is a shame.”
