Idina Menzel breaks silence on John Travolta’s awkward Oscar intro…
Idina Menzel has finally spoken out about when John Travolta introduced her as ‘Adela Dazeem’ at this year’s Oscars.
Talking to The Today Show, the star who is number one on the US Billboard charts for her song ‘Let It Go’ has revealed she has forgiven Travolta for his embarrassing mispronunciation.
“I don’t want keep talking about it because I don’t want him to feel worse or anything, ‘cause he sent lots of apologies,” she said.
Idina explains she was so nervous before taking to the stage to perform at the prestigious awards, that Travolta’s mistake sent all her preparation out the window and sent her nerves into overdrive.
"I had done this whole preparation to make sure that I really was in my body and didn't get too nervous," she said.
"So I was picturing my son Walker, I thought, 'Let me just sing it to him' like we do in the bathtub ... and (Travolta) said my name like that and I was like, 'Did that just happen?'"
“Then the orchestra started and then for eight seconds, I said, 'Get your s*** together! And like, stop worrying about your name and sing this song!' So it took me about eight seconds to get over myself."
The performance went off without a hitch and scored the gorgeous singer a tonne of new fans, shooting her to ‘it’ girl status.
‘Frozen’ is now the highest-grossing animated film ever, knocking ‘Toy Story 3’ off the podium.
‘Let it go’ has been sitting at number one on the US Billboard charts for eight consecutive weeks.
