Keith Urban And Nicole Kidman Expecting A Baby
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have finally confirmed to the world that they're preggers. This is despite earlier reports a few weeks ago, in which the couple categorically denied any sperm shenanigans. Of course we're not surprised. Consistency is hardly a strong point for publicists.
Nicole's publicist's latest statement said: "Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby. The couple are thrilled."
When asked to comment on Nicole's pregnancy at the US Critics Choice Awards, George Clooney had several well-selected observations to make. Firstly, that "at least she's not 16" (ouch, Jamie-Lynn!) Secondly, that Nicole would be a "tall mother". If that's the nicest things he could come up with, he clearly holds the same view of Nicole's mother skills as her two adopted kids, Isabella and Conor i.e. there's not much to say at all.
In response to the pregnancy, Nicole has pulled out of "The Reader"; a post- World War II drama in which she was meant to star next year. And it seems she pulled out not because it would be too much work, but because she was meant to be leading an "erotic awakening" of Ralph Fiennes' character, and introducing a pregnant belly into the screen shots would start to get plain kinky.
Current reports suggest that Nicole's part will be replaced by the infinitely more talented Kate Winslet. Given Nicole's track record with abysmal movies for at least the last decade, this is probably the best thing possible for the film studio.
