Liam Hemsworth talks filming ‘Catching Fire’ whipping scenes
Liam Hemsworth has opened up about some of the memorable moments from the set of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ dishing on his co-star Jennifer Lawrence and that cringe-worthy whipping scene.
In an interview with ‘Good Morning America,’ the 23-year-old hunk spoke about working with J-Law, and it sounds like the Oscar-winning actress was a bit of a trouble-maker on set.
“There's pretty much no filter at all with Jennifer, especially if you're having a bad day, she’ll pounce on that," he said jokingly.
"She finds the weakness and then she’ll exploit it to the entire set.
“Jennifer is someone who just really cares about the people around her and she has a big heart... you really couldn’t ask for a better co-star than her, she’s great,” he added.
When it comes to unforgettable moments from the set, it was shooting the whipping scene that has become etched on the Aussie star’s brain.
“For me there’s a lot of great scenes. I got whipped for three days, which is good and bad, I guess. If you’re into that kind of thing,” he shared.
“I’m not the kind of person that likes to get whipped. It was an interesting couple of days.”
With the movie portraying some dark themes, Liam explained that it was important to still have fun during filming.
“It’s nice to keep things light on set and still enjoy who you’re being there with,” said the heartthrob.
“You’ve got to have someone like Woody [Harrelson] on set to keep that stuff light, he’s the kind of person that keeps it fun and entertaining, and same with Jennifer as well, she does the same thing.”
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is in cinemas now!
