MTV celebrates the 2013 EMA with live concert in Melbourne!
Were you on ground in Melbourne yesterday celebrating the ‘2013 MTV EMA’ with us? Streaming the hotly-anticipated awards show live from Amsterdam in Federation Square, the free event was a MTV first and featured special performances by some of Australia’s favourite musicians.
The takeover, hosted by MTV VJs Kate Peck and Keiynan Lonsdale, kicked off at 6am with the live premiere of the red carpet show, followed by the main show at 7am. The awards were repeated throughout the day, before the epic event was closed with some seriously #EMAzing live performances!
Kicking off the performances for the night, Irish-Australian electro-house group The Potbelleez took to the stage to perform a number of their hit tracks, including their new single ‘Magic Number.’
It was then time for ARIA-nominated artist and ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ judge Timomatic to perform for fans.
“S/o to all who came down to @Fed_Square and rocked out with me for the #MTVEMA live event,” he tweeted after his set. “Big love #everythingisallowed out now !!!”
Chart-topping DJs Peking Duk closed the party with their electro house beats, performing their latest single ‘Feels Like’ and a remix of Passion Pit’s ‘Take A Walk.’
“Melbourne come to fed square right now,” the producers wrote on Twitter. “MTV Australia are throwing the funnest shindig for the EMA.”
