MTV’s #SOMEONELIKEME party rocks Sydney for World AIDS Day!
MTV Staying Alive Foundation teamed up with Durex to throw the first of 12 World AIDS Day parties across the world, featuring live performances, celebrity appearances and more!
Kicking off just before midnight at Cargo Bar on Saturday night, the party was launched with a bang (yep, there were glitter guns!), with a NYE-style countdown signalling the start of the world’s first #SOMEONELIKEME event in Sydney.

Hosted by MTV VJ Keiynan Lonsdale and featuring live performances by some of Australia’s hottest DJ acts – including Yolanda Be Cool, Motez and The Faders – the crowd was pumped and ready to party into the early hours of the global celebration.
Two dollars from every ticket sale went to the organisation of the AIDS 2014 Conference, with Durex Australia also donating one condom for every share of the #SOMEONELIKEME hashtag.
